Consent & Boundaries
Not policies. The ground the work stands on.
Consent and boundaries are not just policies but the foundation of safe, effective work. I am committed to creating a space where you feel respected, heard, and in control at all times.
The practice of consent
Consent is not a one-time checkbox. It is a living conversation. My goal is for your nervous system to feel complete agency throughout a session.
- All feelings are welcome. If something feels too fast, too deep, or simply “off,” you are encouraged to voice it.
- The right to pause. You may stop or modify the session at any moment, for any reason, without explanation.
- Frequent check-ins. I will check in on pressure and comfort. Your “no” is as valuable as your “yes.”
- Zero obligation. You are never required to receive touch in an area that feels unsafe or vulnerable.
Professional boundaries
Our relationship is strictly professional and therapeutic. To maintain a safe container, I hold to a clear code:
- Confidentiality. Your identity and our sessions are kept private (with the standard legal exceptions for safety).
- Professional focus. Our interaction is limited to the therapeutic setting. That clarity allows us to focus entirely on the work.
- Integrity. A safe, neutral space. Your well-being is the only priority in the room.
Clothing & touch
To support a sense of safety and containment, somatic sessions are typically performed fully clothed. Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for easy movement (yoga or gym wear works well).
All touch is therapeutic and intended to support nervous-system regulation. If specific table work requires skin contact (such as with oil), professional draping is strictly maintained to ensure your privacy and warmth at all times.
Scope of practice
Please share any medical conditions, injuries, or medications that might affect our work together. While the work is generally safe, certain conditions may require modifications or medical clearance.
This work is not a substitute for medical care. If you have serious medical conditions, please consult with your healthcare provider before beginning.
